Mountain Modern Home: Finish Carpentry for a Custom Builder
Interior and exterior finish carpentry on a new custom home: tongue-and-groove wood ceilings, a suspended fireplace surround, and the hanging of an oversized weathered-steel pivot front door.
Before and after

Drag to compare. Left is before, right is after.
The problem
A custom home builder needed a finish carpenter who could handle the details that define a modern house: a wood plank ceiling that runs uninterrupted through the great room, a pivot door that weighs several hundred pounds and has to swing true, and trim that disappears.
What Luke did
Luke installed the tongue-and-groove ceiling through the great room and kitchen, fitted around the suspended fireplace flue and the window walls, and hung and adjusted the corten-steel pivot entry door with its full-height glass sidelites. Exterior wood siding details and interior door and window trim followed.
The result
The builder’s review: “Luke works quickly and with great attention to detail. Luke is also full of integrity and understanding. Two traits difficult to find in the trades.”
I'm a custom home builder and Luke has worked on several of our projects. We're so grateful for Luke and LTA. Luke works quickly and with great attention to detail. As much as that's fantastic and necessary, Luke is also full of integrity and understanding. Two traits difficult to find in the trades. Don't hesitate to hire such an outstanding craftsman!!!
