Do I need an egress window?
If the basement will have a bedroom, yes, by code. Luke will tell you where it can go and what the well and excavation involve.
Can you add a bathroom where there is no plumbing?
Usually. It depends on where the main drain runs and the slab. Options range from a conventional rough-in to an up-flush system. This is decided at the walkthrough.
How do you handle low ceilings?
Recessed lighting, careful duct routing and paint choices do most of the work. Where there is a beam or duct that cannot move, it gets boxed and trimmed so it looks intentional.
Will it be permitted?
