Wood Mantel on a Stone Fireplace
A thick solid-wood mantel with carved corbels set into a floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplace.
The problem
A stone fireplace with no mantel, so nothing to hang stockings on and nowhere for the television to make sense.
What Luke did
Luke scribed a solid mantel beam to the irregular stone face, anchored it into the masonry, and added corbels shaped to sit against the stone. The fit is tight enough that there is no caulk line.
The result
The stone finally has a focal point.
