Live-Edge Walnut Floating Shelves
Two thick live-edge walnut shelves floated over a coffee bar on white subway tile, with hidden steel brackets and no visible hardware.
Before and after

Drag to compare. Left is before, right is after.
The problem
A blank tiled wall over a coffee station. The client wanted warm wood shelves that looked like they were growing out of the wall, and did not want to see a single bracket.
What Luke did
Luke located the studs behind the tile, drilled clean through the grout lines for hidden steel rods, and milled two walnut slabs with a live edge facing out. The shelves slide over the rods and sit tight to the tile with no gap and no visible fastener. The underside is as finished as the top.
The result
A one-day install that changed the whole wall. The before photo is on this page because the difference is the point.
